• What is the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)?
• A comprehensive safety and health management system
recommended by OSHA.
• Involves a cooperative relationship between management,
labor, and OSHA.
Voluntary Protection Program
• Why is it important?
• Our work place is expected to continuously improve safety,
which means a safe work site for all.
• A reduction injuries and illnesses has been documented
with site committed to a VPP approach.
• Cooperative agreement established a standards of policing
and scheduled OSHA visits.
• VPP worksite have injury rates of 52% below the average
for their industry.
General Manager Work Plan
• Voluntary Protection Plan (VPP) Certification —
Complete afull review and audit of all Safety and
Health policies, conduct athird-party VPP readiness
assessment, and draft a VPP implementation plan by
June 30, 2019.
