DETERMINING PREVAILING WAGE RATES TO BE PAID
BY CONTRACTORS
A.JOINT RESOLUTION OF TIlE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS
OF COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICTS NOS.1,2,3,
5,6,7 AND 11 OF ORANGE COUNTY,CALIFORNIA,
ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING
RATES OF WAGES.TO BE PAID TO ALL WORKMEN
EMPLOYED ON PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS WITHIN
THE DISTRICTS UNTIL THE AMENDMENT OR REVOCATION
OF THIS RESOLUTION
WHEREAS,Section 1771 of the Labor Code of the State of California requires
that not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages shall be paid
to all workmen employed on public works contracts;and
WHEREAS,Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California requires
that the Director of the State Department of Industrial Relations shall determine
the prevailing rate of per diem wages for the locality;and
WHEREAS,the Director has determined and published the prevailing rate of
per diem wages for Orange County;and
WHEREAS,Sectioi~1773 of the Labor Code of the State of California requires
that any body awarding any contract for public works shall obtain from the State
Department of Industrial Relations the general prevailing rate of per diem wages.
and general prevailing for holiday and overtime work in the locality in which
the public work is to be performed for each craft,classification,or type of
workman needed to execute the contract,and further allows such public body to
publish said prevailing rate in a newspaper of general circulation at least one
time during each year rather than setting forth said per diem rates in each call
for bids,in the bid specifications,and in the contract itself.
NOW,THEREFORE,the Boards of Directors of County Sanitation Districts
Nos.1,2,3,5,6,7 and 11 of Orange County,California,do hereby resolve,
declare,determine and order as follows:
Section 1 That the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for each
craft,classification,or type of workman needed to execute public works contracts
and the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work for each
craft,classification,or type of workman are in accordance with the schedules
published by the Director,State Department of Industrial Relations,attached
hereto as Exhibit “A”and made a part hereof as though fully set out herein,and
on file in the office of the Secretary of the Boards of Directors.
Section 2 That any classification omitted from said Exhibit “A”shall be
paid not less than $6.99 per hour.
Section 3 That this resolution shall be published at least one time each
year in a newspaper of general circulation.
Section 4 A copy of this resolution shall be posted at each jobsite
prior to the commencement of any work.
Section 5 Joint Resolution No.76-93 and any other resolutions,motions
or portions thereof in conflict herewith are hereby rescinded.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting held February 9,1977.
