HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1968 - 0045l 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 ii !: :1 Ii 1· !I I! 11 11 II RESOLUTION NO. 68-45-7 A RESOL~TION OF THE BOARD OF DffiECTORS OF COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 7 OF ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,, ADOPTED PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY GRANTED BY SECTION 5243 OF THE STREETS AND HIGH- WAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DIRECTING THAT THE BIDS OR PROPOSALS FOR THE WORK TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN "ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 7 11 MAY BE OPENED, EXAMINED AND DECLARED BY THE SECRETARY PRIOR TO THE PRESENTATION TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. WHEREAS,, Section 5243 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,, being a part of the "Improvement Act of 1911,," provides that bids or proposals for construction work shall be publicly opened, examined,, and declared in open session by the legislative body, and further provides that the legislative body may, by resolution,, authorize such proposals or bids to be opened, examined and declared by an officer designated in a resolution for later 14 presentation to the legislative body; 15 NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing,, the Board of 16 Directors of County Sanitation District No. 7 of Orange County, California,, does 17 hereby RESOLVE and ORDER as follows: 18 Section 1: That pursuant to the authority granted by Section 5243 of 19 said Streets and Highways Code, and with respect to the proposals and bids ·20 expected to be received by this District for the work to be constructed in 21 "Assessment District No. 7," such proposals and bids may be opened, examined .22 and declared by the Secretary of this District prior to the presentation of said 23 bids to the Board of Directors for its consideration. 24 Section 2: The said proposals or bids shall be opened, examined 25 and declared by the Secretary at a public meeting called by the Secretary for that 26 purpose and said Secretary shall thereafter report the results of the bidding to 27 this Board of Directors at the next regular meeting of this Board of Directors 28 following the opening of said bids. 29 30 31 LAW OFFICES OF RIMEL, HARVEY Be HELSING FOURTH FLOOR tOIO NORTH MAIN ST, SANTAANA. The foregoing prevailing wage scale is based on a working day of eight hours. Overtime rates, rates of pay for Saturdays, Sundays and holidays shall apply to those holidays and those rates as recognized in the current collective bar- gairiing agreement applicable to the particular craft classification or type of workm.an employed on the project. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the rates specified in said Resolution No. 67-68 and as specified above to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract. Each bid shall be made out on a form to be obtained of the Engineer of Work of said District. In the event the bidder elects to furnish a bid bond,. the bid bond form must be of the forfeiture type and a form of this bond will be furnished by the District for use or examination by the bidder. All of the work will be done under the 11 !Inprovement Act of 1911.
