APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL GRANT
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOABD OF DIRECT~)RS OF COUNTY
SANITATION DISTRICT NO.1 OF ORANGE COUNTY,
CALIFORNIA,AUTHORIZING AN])DIRECTIUG FILING OF
APPLICATION FC~FEDERAL GRANT UNDER U.S.C.466

DOES HEREBY RESOLVE,DETER1’IINE AND ORDER THAT:
Section 1.An Act of Congress known as an Act to Extend and
Strengthen the Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C.466 et seq.)
provides for Federal grants for construction of sewage treatment
works.
Section 2.County Sanitation District No.1 of Orange County
is a separate and distinct agency organized under Chapter 3,Part 3,
Division 5 of the Health and Safety Code,State of California,for
the purpose of constructing,operating and maintaining a major trunk
sewer system for the collection of sewage from the cities and other
local collection seweririg agencies,and has joined with other County
Sanitation Districts namely,County Sanitation Districts Nos.1,2,3,
5,6,7 and 11 in constructing,operating and maintaining joint
sewerage treatment plants and disposal facilities under an agreement
dated October 8,1958,known as the Joint Ownership,Operation and
Construction Agreement.
Section 3.In accordance with the terms of said Joint Ownership,
Operation and Construction Agreement,County Sanitation District
No.1 of Orange County may,for convenience,act for itself and County
Sanitation Districts Nos.2,3,5,6,7 and 11 of Orange County,each
organized for similar purposes and serving different territories,all
in Orange County,California.
Section 4.The General Manager is hereby authorized and in
structed to prepare,sign and submit in behalf of County Sanitation
District No.1 an application for a grant under said Act of Congress
in the amount of $88,300 for a construction project generally
described as follows:
1962-1963 additions to Plant No.2 consisting
of a new Headworks,Sedimentation Basins
Nos.6 and 7,-Digesters F,G and H and Sludge
Beds.
Section 5.County Sanitation District No.1 of Orange County,
California is hereby designated “central agency”for said construc
tion project as defined in Title 23,Chapter 3,Subparagraph 3 of
the California Administrative Code.
