RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO.2,OF
ORANGE COUNTY,CALIFORNIA,CALLING A SPEC
IAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID DISTRICT
ON AUGUST 5,1958,FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUB
MITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID
DISTRICT A PROPOSITION OF INCURRING A BOND
ED INDEBTEDNESS IN THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF
$8,65o~ooo FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING
AND CONSTRUCTING ADDITIONAL SEWAGE FACIL
ITIES FOR SAID DISTRICT.
WHEREAS,pursuant to the County Sanitation District Act
(Chapter 3,Part 3,DivIsion 5 of the Health and Safety Code of
the State of California)and Section ~795 thereof,this Board
of Directors has heretofore determined,by resolution passed
by a vote of four-fifths of all its members,that the public
interest and necessity of County Sanitation District No.2,of
Orange County demand the issuance of additional bonds of said
district for carrying out the objects of the district;and,
W}IEREAS,this Board did,by resolution,direct J.R.
Lester Boyle and Sidney L.Lowry,as sanitation engineers for
said district,to prepare a report pursuant to Section ~4748 of
said Law,and said report was duly filed and set for hearing,
and notice of said hearing was duly given,and said hearing
was duly held and at the conclusion thereof this Board approved
and adopted said report as made;
NOW,THEREFORE,the Board of Directors of County Sanita
tion District No.2 of Orange County does hereby
RESOLVE,DETERMINE AND .~RDER,as follows:
Section 1.That a special election is hereby called and
ordered to be held in County Sanitation District No.2 of Orange
County on August 5,1958,for the purpose of submitting to the

qualified electors of said district the proposition of incurring
a bonded indebtedness of said district in the principal amount
of $8,650,000 to obtain funds with which to acquire the property
and do the work set forth in the report of J.R.Lester Boyle and
Sidney L.Lowry approved and adopted by this Board on April 9,
1958,and hereinafter stated.
Section 2.That the general objects and purposes for
which it is proposed to incur said bonded indebtedness are as
follows:
(1)The construction of a trunk sewer.’and ap
purtenances to be known as the Newhope-Placentia
Trunk Sewer and extending from the existing Treatment
Plant No.1 to the intersection of La Palma Avenue
and Placentia Avenue,together with certain trunk
and subt-’unk sewers tributary thereto,
(2)The construction,jointly with County
Sanitation District No.3 of said county,of
(a)a trunk sewer and appurtenances to
be known as the Miller-Holder Trunk Sewer and
extending from the existing Treatment Plant
No.2 to the intersection of Imperial Highway
and Fullerton Road and
(b)a relief sewer and appurtenances
to be known as the Magnolia Relief Sewer and
extending from the intersection of Knott Avenue
and Eighth Street to the intersection of Magnolia
Avenue and Orangethorpe Avenue,
(3)the acquisition of all easements,pipe,
machinery,equipment,appurtenances and other property
necessar7 for any of the foregoing,
(4)the acquisition from the owners thereof of
(a)the trunk sewer and appt~rtenances
known as the Euclid Trunk Sewer,and

(b)a portion of the subtrunk sewer
and appurtenances known as the Orange Subtrunk
Sewer,and
(5)the acquisition from the owners thereof,
jointly with said County Sanitation District No.3,
of
(a)the trunk sewer and appurtenances
known as the Magnolia Trunk sewer,and
(b)a portion of the La Habra Sanitary
District outfall sewer and appurtenances,
all of the foregoing in accordance with the report of J.R.Lester
Boyle and Sidney L.Lowry approved and adopted by the Board of
Directors of said County Sanitation District No.2 on April 9,
1958,and on file in the office of the Secretary of said Board,
reference to which report is made for further particulars,and
in accordance with the provision of the County Sanitation District
Act.
Sect~.on 3.That the amount of the principal of the bonds
proposed to be Issued by said district for said objects and pur
poses Is $8,650,000;that the number of years not to exceed
which the whole of said bonds are to run is forty (40)years,
but said bonds may be made to mature within a lesser number of
years;that the maximum rate of interest to be paid on such
indebtedness shall be not to exceed six percent (6w)per an
num,payable annually the first year and semi-annually there
after,the actual rate or rates to be determined at the time
of the sale or sales thereof;that if at such election two-.
thirds of the votes cast are in favor of incurring said bonded
indebtedness then bonds of the district not exceeding the amount
stated herein shall be issued and sold as provided in said Act.
Section 14~That for the purpose of holding said election
there are hereby established Sixty-five (65)consolidated voting

precincts designated as hereinafter stated.That each such con
solidated voting precinct shall consist of the hereinafter
designated regular election precincts (or the portion thereof
within said district)established for the holding of state
and county elections as such regular election precincts have
been established by the Board of Supervisors,of Orange County
and exist on the date of adoption of this resolution.That
the polling places for the respective consolidated precincts
shall be the places hereinafter designated,and the persons
hereinafter named,being competent and qualified electors and
residents of said district and of their respective consolidated
voting precincts,are hereby appointed officers of election for
their respective consolidated voting precincts and they shall
hold said election and make return thereof in the manner pro
vided by law.

BOND PROPOSITION:Shall County Sanitation District No:
2 of Orange County incur a bonded Indebtedness in the
principal amount of $8,650,000 for the purpose of (1)
the construction of a trunk sewer and appurtenances to:
be known as the Newhope-Placentia Trunk Sewer and ex
tending from the existing Treatment Plant No.1 to the:
intersection of La Palma Avenue and Placentia Avenue,
together with certain trunk and subtrunk sewers tribu-;
tary thereto,(2)the construction,jointly with Count~
Sanitation District No.3 of said county,of (a)trunk:
sewer and appurtenances to be known as the Miller-Hold.:
er Trunk Sewer and extend~.ng from the existing Treat
ment Plant No.2 to the intersection of Imperial High-:
way and Fullerton Road and .(b)a relief sewer and ap
purtenances to be known as the Magnolia Relief Sewer
and extending from the intersection of Knott Avenue
and Eighth Street to the Intersection of Magnolia Aven~
ue and Orangethorpe Avenue,(3)the acquisition of all:
easements,ptpe,machinery,equipment,appurtenances
and other property necessary for any of the foregoing,
(4)the acquisition from the owners thereof of (a)th~
trunk sewer and appurtenances known as the Euclid Trunl<
Sewer and (b)a portion of the subtrunk sewer and ap
purtenances known as the Orange Subtrunk Sewer,and
(5)the acquisition from the owners thereof,jointly
with said County Sanitation District No.3,of (a)the
trunk sewer and appurtenances known as the Magnolia
Trunk Sewer and (b)a portion of the La Habra Sanitary
District outfafl sewer and appurtenances,all of the
foregoing in accordance with the report of J.R.Lester
Boyle and Sidney L.Lowry approved and adopted by the
Board of Directors of said County Sanitation District
No.2 on April 9,1958,and on file in the Office of
the Secretary of said Board,reference to which re
port is made for further particulars,and in accordanceS
with the provisions of the County Sanitation District

Resolution to be published once a week for three successive weeks
in the DAILY-NEWS TRIBUNE,a newspaper having a general circulation
in said district.No other notice of said election need be given.
Section 11.That the Secretary of this Board is hereby author
ized and directed to sign a certificate of the adoption of this
resolution to be published herewith.
The foregoing Resolution No.517-2 was passed and adopted by
the Board of Directors of County SanItation District No.2 of
Orange County,California,at a regular adjourned
meeting thereof held on the 29th day of May,1958.
