HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1971-07-27~********** Report re proposed Paul Brown,District’s Assistant over-sizing of Baysidé General Manager and Chief Engineer, Drive Trunk Sewer at reported on preliminary discussions Promontory Point with The Irvine Company regarding over—sizing the Bayside Drive Trunk Sewer to be relocated at Promontory Point,and stated The Irvine Company had advised that their formal request was still under preparation and not yet ready for submission to the Board.~ Authorizing Shuinnan-Following a report by Don Simpson, Simpson Engineers to District’s consulting engineer,and up date information on a general discussion re construction District’s Master scheduling of the Coast Highway Plan facilities Force•.Main and facilities required to serve the area to the southeast of the District,it was moved,seconded and duly carried: That the firm of Shuirman-Simpson be directed to up date cost information for sewerage facilities required to serve the ultimate needs of the District;and, FURTHER MOVED:That the General Manager be authorized to request a proposal from the firm of Shuirxnan—Simpson for engineering services in connection with the design and construction of Coast Highway Force Main,Contract No.5—19. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. The roll was called and the Secretary reported a quorum present, DIRECTORS PRESENT:Lindsley Parsons (Chairman), Edgar Hirth and Robert Battin DIRECTORS ABSENT:None STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT:Fred A.Harper,General Manager, Paul C.Brown,Assistant General Manager,J.Wayne Sylvester, Secretary and Ray Lewis OTHERS PRESENT:H.Harvey Hunt and Don Simpson 0 —~,s—. ~•\~ 7/27/71 #5 Report of the Director The Director of Finance reviewed of Finance re 1971—72 in detail the District’s preliminary ~~ets -budget recommendations and reported that based on the five-year cash flow projection included with the budget material,it appears the District will be able to maintain its current tax rate of approximately 26 per $100 of assessed valuation. Mr.Sylvester advised the Board that receipt of federal and state grants on the District’s share of joint works expansion,and the actual amount of connection fees collected will have a substantial effect on the Districtts cash projections for the five year period, Adjournment Moved,seconded and duly carried: ATTEST: That this meeting of the Board of Directors of County Sanitation District No,.5,be adjourned.The Chairman then.declared the meeting so adjourned at 5:~~.5 p.m0, July 27,1971.
