Launer called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. The roll was called and the Secretary reported a quorum preser~t for all District Boards. Mr.Ribal reported that bids for the underwater explor ations for the proposed sewer outfall seaward from the mouth o~’ the Santa Ana River have been canvassed and it has been deten~ine~ that Ray Trautwein and Paul Trautwein,doing business as Trautweii’ Brothers are the lowest responsible bidders. -2— Mr.Ribal reported that an inspection has been made of the equip mont proposed to be used on the work and it has been found to be satisfactory and that he recommends that the contract be awarded to Trautwein Brothers for Alternate I as described in the 1?roposal foi’the work. REP~)UT OF THE Nelson M.Launer,Administrative Officer ADMINISTRhTIVE reported that the official budget for OF:?ICER the operating fund of each district and the budget for the Joint Administrative fund will ~e presented to ~Chairmen for signature;and recommended thatthe Di~tt4c~Boards adopt the budgets,copies of which were mailed td the Directors in his letter of August 3,1951. RESOLUTION NO~~l The Boards of Directors of County Sani tation L)istricts Nos.1,2,3,5,6,7 and 11 adopted the following Resolution: RESOLUTION NO.dl A RESoLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NUMBER _____,A~11~RDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE EXPLORi~TION OF THE OCEi~N FLOOR FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MARINE SECTION OF THE OCEAN OUTFALL SEWER,AND REQUESTING COUNTY SANI TATION DISTRICT NUMBER OPE TO SO AWARD SAID ~‘OR~, AND ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FO~t PERFORMING THE SAME. The Board of Directors of County Sanitation District Number _____ does resolve as follows: SECTION I.It is hereby determined and declared that, pursuant to advertisements and a notice of receiving bids duly published,bids were received for furnishing the equip ment and labor for performing the exploration of the ocean floor for the construction of the marine section of the ocean outfall sewer and that said bids have been canvassed and that Ray Trautwein and Paul Trautwein doing business as Trautwein Bros.,General Engineering Contractors,of 2410 Central Avenue,Newport Beach,California was the lowest and best responsible bidder for performing said work. SECTION II.That the bid of Trutwein Bros.is the lowest and best bid for furnishing the equipment and labor for performing said work,and County Sanitation District Number One,acting as contracting agent for itself and County Sanitation Districts Two,Three,Five,Six,Seven and Eleven is hereby requested and directed to award the contract for doing said work to the above named Trautwein Bros.and to execute a contract therefor with the said bidder,said contract to be in accordance with Alternate I of the proposal of the si.tccessful bidder opened on August 13,1951,and to be based on the Specifications for Work and the Instructions to Bidders and General Provisions,to wit: Alternate I (a)the sum of ~312.OO per 8-hour day for the work specified. (b).....the sum of ~4O5.OO per 8-hour day for the work specified. (c)the sum of ~lO5.OO per 8-hour day for the work specified. SECTION III.The Secretary of County Sanitation Districts Nos.1,2,3,5,6,7 and 11 of Orange County is hereby d~.rected to return to the unsuccessful bidders their respecive bidder’s bonds or their certified checks. —3— JOINT ADMIN-On motion of Director C.N.Featherly, ISTR.’~TIVE BUDGET seconded by Director Ralph J. McFadden and duly carried,the Joint Boards of Directors of County Sanitation Districts Nos.1,2,3,5,6,7 and 11,approved,adopted and authorized the Chairman pro tern to sign the ~95l-52 Joint Admin istrative budget,as submitted. A motion was made by Director C.ii. Featherly,seconded by Director J.L. McBride and duly carried by members of the Board of Directors of County Sanitation District No.1,approving the minutes of the special meetings held on August 6,and two meetings held on August 13,1951,as mailed out. The Board of Directors of County Sani tation District No.1 adopted the following resolution: RESOLUTION NO.~2 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NUMBER ONE AWARDING THE CON TRACT FOR THE EXPLORAtTION OF THE OCEAN FLOOR FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MARINE SECTION OF THE OCEAN OUTFALL SEWER,itND AUTHORIZING THE CHAIR MAN AND SECRETARY OF SAID BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SAID DISTRICT TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CON TRACT FOR THE PERFORIvIANCE OF SAID WORK.
