HomeMy WebLinkAboutDistrict 02 Minutes 1949-09-28113 MINUTES OF MEETING OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO •2 OF ORANGE COUNTY,CALIFORNIA September 28,l9!~9,at 8:00 P.M. Board of Supervisors Room The Board of Directors met in regular session. There were present:Directors George N.Weirner (Chairman), Charles A.Pearson,Ralph J.McFadden,Irvin C.Chapman and Anton W.Wilson,and the Secretary.Absent:Charles 0.McCart. The joint meeting of the District Boards was called to order by Chairman Virgil Reed at 8:iS P.M. A motion was made,duly seconded and unanimously carried, to approve the Minutes of the joint meeting of September i!~, l9t~9,as read. Director George Weimer spoke of recent negotiations re garding the appointment of a chief engineer-general manager and suggested that,in view of these negotiations,the District Boards refrain from discussing the subject at this meeting.A motion was made,duly seconded and unanimously carried,recom mending that discussion on the appointment of a chief engineer- general manager be postponed until the next meeting. Letters were read from the cities of Orange and Santa Ana end the Placentia Sanitary District stating that the city coun cils and board of directors of these communities have agreed to sell to the Sanitation Districts their proportionate share of those Joint Outfall Sewer facilities as set forth in the Engin eer’s Reports dated December 22,191i.8,and in the bond proceed ings.Mayors Pearson and Chapman stated that the city councils of Anaheim and Fullerton had taken similar action,and Mr. Nelson Launer reported that the La Habra Sanitary District had agreed to sell its ownership in said facilities about two months ago. Mr.Walter Schmid,President of the Associated Chambers of Conmierce,presented resolutions adopted by their Board of Directors on September 26,l9~9,and offered said resolutions for the consideration of the Sanitation District Boards. At the suggestion of chairman Reed,a motion wa~made, duly seconded and unanimously carried,instructing the Secre tary to re0uest that the 0ounty Counsel send letters to the 11~4 County Board of Supervisors and to the governing bodies of all cities and sanitary districts within the sanitation districts, outlining the changes in membership that will take place on the District Boards after October 2nd in order to conform to Section Li..730 of the Health and Safety Code as amended during the last session of the State Legislature. On motion of Director Chapman,duly seconded and carried, it was ordered that a coimnunication from the Placentia Chamber of ‘ommerce,dated September 28,19L~..9,be read and filed.
