Iii" accor~ance with your. request of September 28, 1972,
the City Council has considered the matter of the ·sewer
line route very carefully. Several meetings have been
held with representatives of the Westminster School
District and interested citizens.
We thank you fat y6ur time spent ~t meetings in the
City of Westminster relative to this sewer line.
The Council, at its meeting of November 14, voted to
recommend to the Sanitation Districts proposed Route C
or the possibility of an alternate route south of Hazard
Avenue.
We would appreciate advice from yo~ after consideration
of the alternate route.
The City Council wishes to thank you and your staff
members who have cooperated with the City on this project.

Through Your City
Beginning early next year County Sanitation Dist_rict No. 3
proposes. to construct the above-designated 96-inch diameter
reinforced conc~ete pipe sewer which is needed to expand the
District's pre~~nt trunk sewer system which is rapidly reach-
ing capacity.
The District.1 s engineers, after careful study, have recommended
to the Board of Directors the route for this facility as shovm
on the enclosed sketch. It will be noted that the route will
be within; or contiguous to, your city boundaries from the
intersection of Balsa A venue and Ne,·11and Street to the inter-
section of Westminster Avenue and Edwards Street.
This letter is to request the concurrence of the Council on
the location of this facility in accordance with Section J.+759.1
of the California Health and Safety'Code. rhe Dist~ict's
engineers and staff will supply additional information to the
council as desired and will continue to vrnrk closely with your
Department of Public Works staff on detailed requirer:ients such
as construction procedures and traffic control, in order to
minimize any inconvenience to the citizens of Westminster.

The Council, at its meetinq of November 14, voted to
recommend to the Sanitation Districts proposed Route C
or the possibility of an alternate route south of Hazard
Avenue.

Construction of Heach 4 of the Knott Interceptor Trunk Sewer
Through Your City
Beginning early next year County Sanitation District No. 3
proposes to construct the above-designated 96-inch diameter
reinforced conc~ete pipe sewer which is needed to expand the
District's pre~ent trunk sewer system which is rapidly reach-
ing capacity.
The District 1 s engineers, after careful study, have recommended
to the Board of Directors the route for this faciJ.i ty a.:; shm·m
on the enclosed sketch. It will be noted that the route will
be within, or contiguous to, your city boundaries from the
intersection of· Balsa Avenue and Newland Street to the inter-
section of Westminster Avenue and Edwards Street.
This letter is to request the concurrence of the Council on
the location of this facility in accordance. with Section 4759.1
of the California Health and Safety ·code. The District's
engineers and staff will supply additional information to the
council ~s desired and will continue to work closely with your
Department of Pttblic Works staff on _detailed requirements such
as construction procedures and traffic control, in order to
minimize any inconveriience to the citizens of Westminster.
