Box 8127 -10844 Ellis Avenue Fountain Valley, California 92708 ADDENDUM NUMBER 1 TO PLANS FOR REMODELING SEDIMENTATION BASINS 3 AND 4 AT PLANT NO. 1 AND REMODELING SED1LV1ENTATION BASINS A, B, AND C AT PLANT NO. ·2 JOB NUMBERS Pl-lR-1 AND P2-1R-l January 8, 1971 I. Sheet 3, REVISION TO SEDIMENTATION BASINS NO. 3 AND NO. 4, add the following notes: Existing bridges of Sedimentation Basins 3 and 4 shall be cleaned and painted as follows: a. Flooring material shall be removed from walling surface.. Material shall be removed not less than· l /2- inch into clamping angles on each side of bridge on each side of each pair of angles. b. A 1 /2-inch hole shall be drilled in center of walkway at 4' -0 11 spacing to provi~e drainage. c. All metal shall be ·cleaned by sandblasting to bare metal, SSPC SP-6 commercial blast cleaning.· d. Space between clamping angles at walling surface shall be caulked with 1 /4 to 1 /2-inch deep synthetic rubber to seal area between angles. e. All exposed metal shall be painted with three coats (primer and two finish coats) of alkyd enamel as specified. f. A fourth coat of alkyd enamel shall be applied to the walking surface. While the surface is still wet, the walking area shall have blown onto it clean, sharp, dry silica ~and of a size all passing a 20-mesh screen, but all retained on a 40-mesh screen. The surface of the paint and sand shall be allowed to dry for at least 48 hours, after which time the excess sand shall be broomed off and the area given a final coating of the same paint, applied to such thickness as to completely cover the sand grains but not to fill the valleys between. The area out- side that which is to be skidproofed shall be protected from sand with masking tape during the operations. Existing return rail brackets shall be sandblasted and painted with coal tar epoxy after installation of new return rails. Sheet 9,.
